Taiwan S&T Hub Holds Semiconductor & AI Conference in Seattle 2023.11.13

Following an international exchange at Stanford University in June and the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC)'s first ministerial visit to the United States for an Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) meeting in August, the Taiwan S&T Hub is continuing to expand technology links with the western United States. In response to the current global boom in generative AI technologies, AI applications, and semiconductor chip fabrication, the Taiwan S&T Hub organized the international symposium "The Synergy between Semiconductors and AI Technologies" in Seattle, Washington on Aug. 4.

NSTC Minister Tsung-tsong Wu and the Vice Provost of the University of Washington were invited to deliver their remarks at the conference, while Director General Tuo-Hung (Alex) Hou of NARLabs' Taiwan Semiconductor Research Institute (TSRI), Executive Vice President Pei-Zen Chang of the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), and member of the Strategy Committee of the Taiwan AI Center of Excellence (Taiwan AICoE) Yuh-Jye Lee joined in conversation with the senior vice president of Microsoft, University of Washington professors, and the chief scientist of NVIDIA to discuss the development of semiconductor and AI technology.

The Taiwan S&T Hub will continue to promote research partnerships, talent training in pivotal fields, technological R&D, and startup cooperation between Taiwan and top U.S. research institutions, expanding and amplifying Taiwan's research impact and influence by organizing international conferences and forums in the United States.
