STPI Makes Its Debut in Workshop for Presenting 2015 Research Reports

2015/12/18

STPI makes its debut in a wrap-up presentation and demonstrates the research outcome of 26 research reports in a recent 2-day workshop.  For the very first time officials from the government and field professionals from academia and industry are all invited to participate in the workshop and provide critical comments to these reports.

Envisioning itself as a national science and technology policy think tank, this workshop enables STPI to prove to the public that it’s capable of supporting the government in sci-tech policy making by conducting in-depth research on issues important to future national development and utilizing over 4-decade experience in collecting, disseminating and analyzing science & technology information.

The presentation is divided into 4 sessions based on the various research fields.  They are Technology Trend Analysis & Foresight Planning vs Innovation & Entrepreneurship Promotion, Patent Mapping & Information Analysis, Key Issues & International Observation, and Government S&T Program Management & Database Building vs Academic Research Capacity.  The authors of these 26 reports are required to revise their reports based on the critics and comments collected in the workshop.

Dr. Ching-Hua Lo, the President of NARLabs, is invited to give opening remarks in the workshop. He emphasizes STPI is a hard-working family member in NARLabs, striving non-stop toward the goal as a leading science and technology policy think tank both in Taiwan and the world.
